Material guidance
Perforated window vinyl reads as a solid graphic from outside while letting light and visibility through from inside. Clear vinyl works best with bold, high-contrast designs. Removable vinyl is the move for anything seasonal.
Artwork requirements
PDF, EPS, AI, PNG, or JPG up to 50 MB. Vector files print sharpest at large sizes; raster files should be 150 DPI at final print size. Full specs on the artwork guidelines page. Perforated film: a billboard outside, a window inside
Perforated window vinyl prints your graphic on a mesh of tiny holes. From the brighter street side it reads as a solid image; from inside, it works like light tint — staff and customers still see out. It is the standard for full-coverage storefront and vehicle rear-window graphics where you cannot afford to lose visibility, and it comes off glass cleanly at the end of the campaign.
Planning a storefront window
Work the glass in zones: door gets hours and logo at eye height, main panes get the message sized to about a third of the glass, and anything below waist height is wasted on pedestrians. Removable vinyl earns its keep on the promo zone — swap sale graphics seasonally without touching the permanent branding. Window Decals — common questions
Can people inside still see out?
With perforated film, yes — it is printed on a mesh of tiny holes, so from the brighter outside it reads as a solid graphic while from inside it works like a tinted window. Solid vinyl blocks the covered area completely.
Inside the glass or outside?
Standard installs go on the outside face for maximum punch. If you need the decal protected from weather or vandalism we can mirror-print clear vinyl for inside-glass application — mention it in your order.
Will window decals damage the glass?
No. Vinyl peels off glass cleanly, especially removable grades. Any adhesive haze from long-term permanent vinyl wipes off with glass cleaner.
What about tinted or low-E glass?
Decals apply fine to tinted glass. On some coated low-E panes, dark exterior graphics can create heat stress — tell us what glass you have and we will flag any risk before you order.
Summer heat, winter cold — will they hold?
Yes. The films are rated for exterior glass through freeze-thaw winters and full-sun summers. Apply between 50–90°F for the adhesive to bond properly; after that, weather is not a factor.
Can I get the same design for several locations?
